Sean McCarthy

Sean is a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BA Psychology, M.Phil, M.Sc, DipClin Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy) and is registered with the IFPP and the ICP. He is a part-time clinical lecturer for the M.Sc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Department of Psychiatry, Trinity Medical School and also teaches clinical trainees for the Irish Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Sean has a particular interest in how childhood experience comes to shape and influence our adult lives. Other areas of interest include the experience of lonliness, social isolation, depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal struggles and the difficulties experienced by many adults in attempting to situate themselves meaningfully into the greater social fabric.
