IFPP was founded in 1986 to provide a focus for people with an interest in advancing the study and practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy within Ireland.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy emphasizes the existence and significance of the effects of the unconscious mind.
The main aim of the group is to provide continuous development for members and connecting psychoanalytic theories to our everyday clinical work.
The IFPP encourages members to participate in the organisation via not only governance but via research and ongoing professional development.
The aim of the code of ethics ensures a standard of best practice for the patient, the psychoanalytic psychotherapist and the profession.
